The other children didn’t know much about the albino, but they did know he was different and different scared them, scared all but Jimmy who remained loyal to his new friend. Jimmy was a bigger boy and though he never really hurt anyone he did intimidate them. He stood up for Fenns. Jimmy thought the only thing wrong with Fenns was he was a bit on the short side. Jimmy wasn’t sure why he liked Fenns, all he knew was that he felt drawn to the smaller boy. Besides, if he wasn’t Fenns’ friend he would be all alone. Jimmy was a good kid deep down. He was just a bit tough looking.
As autumn progressed Jimmy and Fenns got closer and closer. By the time winter set in they were almost inseperable.
In Mid-December a blizzard hit the town whilst all the kids were in school. Parents panicked and called the school frantic to know what was being done with their children. The, kids however, were thrilled about spending the night at school, without the parents.
They played board games and read books. Fenns was reading a book for 13 year olds. A teacher took notice of his unusual reading habits.
“Can you really read books that difficult?” she asked. Her voice was sugary sweet, the way you would talk down to a child.
“Ma’am do not be condescending with me. I don’t appreciate it, and, yes I can read books this difficult.” he said. Fenns never bothered to look up from the book he was reading.
The teacher stood there a moment shell shocked. No child spoke like that, it was obvious he was to smart for third grade.
When she made eyes contact with him later, a chill ran down her spine. His eyes were so dead and cold. They were empty, soulless. No child should have eyes like that.
That night Jimmy and Fenns lay side by side in the dark.
“Hey Jimmy do you like hamburgers?” he asked.
“Well duh, everyone knows I like hamburgers. What’s with you? You’re acting weird.” Jimmy said teasing his friend.
“What if the burger was made out of people instead of cows? Do you think you’d notice?” Fenns rolled over to study his friend’s face in the darkness.
“I don’t know.” Jimmy said softly. The conversation made him uncomfortable and he squirmed on the mat he was sleeping on. But he was used to Fenns asking odd questions that made no sense to Jimmy. He knew his small friend was much smarter and didn’t question him.
After a few moments in silence, “You can’t tell, I know. I’ve had one before; I’ve had a people burger. Promise you tell.” He said fiercely, “I’m not allowed to tell to tell anyone…but I trust you.”
"I promise I won’t tell.” Jimmy whispered into the night.
"Would you like to try one?" Fenns asked.

      "Maybe." Jimmy murmured sleepily.

Alright as you can clearly see the other story has caused a drop in comments. So I'm dropping it and starting fresh before I have to turn this project in. Maybe I'll pick it up later. Anyway Try this one on for size.

    Elementary Nightmare

Everything started with one little boy. His name was Tony Fenns. He was born an albino, the lack of pigmentation made him odd looking with soft white hair, pale skin, and the most unsettling body red eyes that held more intelligence than is normal for a seven year old to have.
He got beat up the first day he attended Cedar Mills Elementary. The kids laughed as a single tear ran down the boy's face. He gritted his teeth and waited for a teacher to step in. They looked away and talked amongst themselves of boys will be boys and let have their fun. At that moment Fenns lost all faith in the staff of the school. A bigger boy, obviously not his first time in the third grade.
"Leave him alone." he said leaning against the swingset. The kids looked mutinous for a moment, like a dog that didn't want to give up the shoe it had been mangling, but in the end they move off to play with a kickball.
"Thanks." Fenns, that's the nickname he preferred, murmured standing slowly.
"I'm Jimmy Kinnder." he said as if that were the coolest thing in the world, "You're small for a third grader."
Fenns looked at him with blank red eyes, "I started early." the bell tolled for lunch and Fenns shuffled inside with all the others. He settled down with a packed lunch at a empty table. Jimmy plopped down beside him with a school tray.
Fenns looked at it questioningly, "My mom says you shouldn't trust cafetria food. Who knows whats in that stuff."
"Really? Maybe after today I'll start packing." Jimmy said regarding his plate with a sudden doubt.
Fenns smiled at the boy's sudden change in opinion. This one he could mold to fit his ideals. Finally someone to stay with him. Fenns unwrapped a sandwich and some carrot sticks and bought a carton of milk.
"Watcha eatin?" Jimmy asked curious to see what his new friend liked to eat.
"Roast beef and Swiss cheese" he said. His parents had warned him about saying what he really ate. He got into a lot of trouble at his last school over it. But soon, soon he hoped to tell Jimmy the truth and have him share the secret.

    Anything for Freedom Part VI

(coming at ya from Canada. I'm on Vacation!)

Nora felt nervous and scared where was Ana. It had been two days and still no word. She was hanging a scruzzy apartment with an annoying idiot who almost ruined her whole escape.

"What are you fussin' for love? Hungry?" Paddy asked enragingly chipper early in the morning. Nora ignored him and continued to stare out the window. She waited to feel that tingling she always felt when Ana was about to say something to her.

Then she felt it and directions creeped into her head. She grabbed a pen and started writing on her arm. Paddy stared at her alarmed.

"Great of all the girls out there I have to find the crazy one." he muttered making some coffee. Nora finished the directions and headed for the door. Paddy started.

"Hey wait a minute! Where in the bloody blooming 'ell do you think your going?" he asked.

"There's someone I've got to find. I just remembered the directions." she lied.

"Well let's see it then." he said grabbing her arm. "It's your lucky day. My line of work takes me up that way quite often." he said proudly.

        "Work?" she asked.

"Yup. I relieve people of things they don't need." he said. Now though Nora was an international assassin she was a bit niave. All she said in response was "Oh."

        "All doll we off then."

  • Anything for Freedom V

Ana woke her neck stiff and her mind racing. Her thoughts flashed back to last and the warm stranger who had given her shelter. She lay on his couch cacooned in a blanket in a warm sunlight apartment. Ana took a quick survey of her surroundings. An older TV sat on a battered coffee table up against the wall opposite to the couch and there were two overstuffed chairs, both a deep charcoal grey, with wooden legs covered in nicks and gouges. The pale grey carpet was clean but held older stains. Set in the wall with She smiled, the room felt lived in. Ana sat up slowly and stretched her arms upward. She stood hungry and in need of some coffee.
She carefully wrapped the blanket around her and shuffled to one of the two doors in the wall. It led down a hallway with more doors. Ana shook her head and tried for the other one. It led to a set of stairs leading downward. A warm smell drifted up the stairs, Ana's stomach growled in response. She smiled and proceded into the kitchen.
Corum sat at the kitchen table chatting with another person, a young man with dark brown hair and darker eyes, they were almost black. His skin was as plae as Nora's and he yelped when she walked in the room. Ana started to turn and leave when she stepped on the edge of the blanket lost her balance and fell on her butt.
"Hey, are you alright, love?" the dark haired man said standing up to come to her aid. His voice was much deeper than Corum's but just as warm and friendly.
Ana held up one hand to say she was fine. She hauled herself to her feet and met the man's eyes. They were deep and dark like wells and Ana could feel a tingling sensation running up her arms. She rubbed them to get rid of the feeling and it faded as quickly as it had come. She motioned to her stomach for something to eat.
"You don't have to pretend with us, love. There's enough telepathy in you to talk freely with us. I'm Conner by the way." the dark hair man said.
Ana gaped in utter shock. She hadn't expected this in the least. She turned and fled upstairs to the living room and tried to find a way out of the apartment. Conner had caught up with her by the time she wrenched open the second door.
"Hey! Hold on we're not going to hurt you." He reached and grabbed her wrist, "We're just tryin' to help you is all. We're not normal, any more than you are. Corum is like a magnet for things supernatural and me, well I tend to get a wee bit furry at the full moon. Stay here you're safe." Ana stopped struggling. She could sense no lies from him. She felt relieved and sad that Nora wasn't here and she was still hungry.
"Can I get something to eat?" she asked.
"Of course love. Come back down to the kitchen. Ana followed her stomach making little growling noises.

  • Anything for Freedom IV

Nora kept into a darkened building just like she would on any other mission. She knelt in a hot unair conditioned hallway, a stream of sweat trickling down her back. She opened a window at the opposite end of the hall. She shimmied up the storm drain and onto the roof. She peaked at the waiting van, Nora wondered if Anna made it out safely. She cleared her mind for the task at hand.
Nora launched herself over to the neighboring building and down into a foul smelling alley. She slid through the shadows and moved along the the alleyways shying away from the main streets. She darted down an alley and slammed into someone.
"Shit!" she hissed. The escape had been going so well. A young man swore at the same time. She heard shouts getting closer. Nora stood and assessed the situation. She planned to ditch the kid and move on and not let this stop her.
Nora grabbed the ladder of a fire escape and began to climb. The boy followed. She winced. Things were getting complicated and Nora couldn't afford some punk being able to identify her. Once on the roof she rounded on him.
"Why the hell are you following me?" she whispered. Her voice was hot with anger and edged with panic.
"You presented the quickest means of escape love." he said easily, "Why are you running?"
"None of your god damn business!" she hissed.
"Don't worry. I know a place you can hide. Follow me. Name" Patty by the way."
"Nora." was all she gave him in return.
Nora quickly moved off into the night with him. She had no place else to go and if he betrayed her she'd just kill him.
